Back in July 2014, upscale retailer Nordstrom acquired Trunk Club, a personalized clothing service for men. Founded in 2009, Trunk Club delivers a stylist service that combines the convenience of online with a high-touch, personalized shopping experience.
Being part of the Nordstrom family, it only made sense to integrate Trunk Club with the Nordstrom Notes loyalty program−something that became official on Friday.
Nordstrom officials were always very high on Trunk Club as it is a high-growth company and expects to achieve operational profitability. Nordstrom officials believe Trunk Club represents a natural extension of its core business, aligns with its strategic priorities around a relevant customer experience, and accelerates entry into this fast-growing market.
As of Friday, Nordstrom cardholders will earn points toward Nordstrom Notes when they use their credit and debit cards at Trunk Club. What’s more, Trunk Club will waive its $25 home try-on fee when trunks are purchased with a Nordstrom card.
Trunk Club spokesperson Kyle Donash talked to Loyalty360 about what factors prompted Nordstrom to expand its loyalty program to include Trunk Club purchases.
“Nordstrom Notes is one of the industry's top loyalty programs,” Donash said. “As a part of the Nordstrom family, it made perfect sense for Trunk Club to integrate with the rewards program. It offers Nordstrom customers another way to earn Notes and shop in a truly unique way. We were hearing consistently from our customers that they wanted the ability to earn rewards on their Trunk Club purchases.”
Nordstrom Rewards expanded to include:
More $20 Nordstrom Notes: Customers earn two points per dollar when using your Nordstrom Visa® credit card, Nordstrom retail card or Nordstrom debit card.
More benefits: Early Access to Anniversary Sale, private holiday shopping parties, alterations, personal bonus point days and more.
Easy application process: Apply online at Nordstrom.com/rewards or at any Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack store.
“Customer loyalty has driven Trunk Club’s success from the beginning,” Donash added. “We were founded to bridge the gap between shoppers and expert stylists. Maintaining that relationship depends on excellent customer service and subsequent customer loyalty.”
