Matthew McConaughey And Wild Turkey Honor Local Legends Through Annual "With Thanks" Partnership
As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold of our country, everyday heroes stepped up in a significant way to support family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. These "Local Legends" have provided unity, comfort, nourishment and relief during these unprecedented health and economic challenges. Matthew McConaughey and Wild Turkey give thanks and celebrate four selfless individuals from Austin, Chicago, Dallas, and New Orleans who've demonstrated unwavering conviction in serving their communities.

These small but profound heroic acts were recognized, as part of the Bourbon brand's "With Thanks" annual global give back campaign. Wild Turkey Creative Director McConaughey surprised these "Local Legends" with a virtual chat and rewarded them with a personalized token of appreciation to thank them for their efforts.
"The pandemic has affected all of us, so it felt more important than ever to recognize the unsung heroes who have consistently and steadfastly supported their neighbors and their communities," says McConaughey.

Employers Should Create Mentorship Programs If They Want More Diverse Students
Steven Rothberg from ColleRecruiter.com says he recently asked a number of career experts to share some of their wisdom with College Recruiter and, therefore, employers of students and recent graduates who are searching for part-time, seasonal, internship, and entry-level jobs. The question that he had was around how employers can increase the number of diverse students and recent graduates they hire, as many of them are really struggling with tactics and strategies for doing so successfully.

Rothberg says he was really happy to hear back from mentorship program expert Patty Alper,  the author of Teach to Work: How a Mentor, a Mentee and a Project Can Close the Skills Gap in America. She is also president of the Alper Portfolio Group, a marketing and consulting company, and is a board member of both the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and US2020, the White House initiative to build mentorship in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers.
