The Return of RadioShack

RadioShack, the once popular electronic retailer, has had a crazy few years. First, the brand declared multiple bankruptcies, once in 2015 and again in 2017. Now, in 2018, RadioShack has announced its new “RadioShack Express,” concept that will be available inside of 100 HobbyTown stores across the US. The HobbyTown brand is known for its specialty toys and the partnership has them hoping for enhanced products and services. For RadioShack, it’s a great starting point towards getting back on track again.

Walmart Ends “Last Mile” Program

Online delivery continues to be an initiative that major brands hope to attack head on. With Amazon nearly perfecting the craft, it has put pressure on brands such as Walmart to provide similar services. Unfortunately, Walmart’s idea for online delivery, its “Last Mile,” program, did not quite experience the levels of success the brand was hoping for. The pilot program, which was launched in New Jersey and Arkansas, allowed for its employees to deliver online orders after their regular shifts for additional pay. Unfortunately, the program needed some major tweaks and Walmart discontinued at the end of January. Its new venture will be staff delivery, where they currently are testing the idea with four employees out of one store in Georgia.
