Choice Hotels International Brings Back Popular Loyalty Promotion

Choice Hotels International’s award-winning loyalty program, Choice Privileges, has decided to bring back its popular Stay Twice, Earn a Free Night Promotion.

Members who book two separate qualifying stays this fall will earn enough loyalty points to redeem a future free night at more than 1,000 Choice Hotel properties worldwide. The Stay Twice, Earn a Free Night promotion runs now through November 9, 2018, and there is no limit to the number of times Choice Privileges members can earn the bonus.

"The Stay Twice, Earn a Free Night promotion gives our 37 million Choice Privileges members an even faster path to earning free nights—the benefit they want most," said Jamie Russo, Vice President, Loyalty Programs and Customer Engagement, Choice Hotels. "With over 1,000 of our hotels available for 8,000 points or less, this promotion makes travel with Choice Hotels even more accessible.  It is no wonder that our members keep requesting this promotion when their loyalty returns this much."

Woolworths Tightens Security After Major Loyalty Program Hack

Australian grocery store chain Woolworths has promised improved security for their loyalty customers after 130 accounts were fraudulently accessed.

Over the past few months, fraudsters have fraudulently redeemed points from the Rewards member accounts. However, an investigation by Woolworths found no evidence to suggest its data systems had been breached or compromised.

Woolworths claims in all the 130 cases, Rewards accounts were accessed with valid login and password details suggesting credentials had been obtained from other sources or online scams.

“I suspect how these scammers have gotten hold of these login details is possibly through social media,” QUT Business School’s Dr Gary Mortimer said.
“We often see scams on social media click on this and get your $150 Woolworths gift card or your Coles Flybuys card. It sends you to a link and asks you to put your loyalty account details and then the scammers have everything they need,” he said.
