A New Beverage Offering at Dunkin’ Donuts

Beer and donuts for breakfast? Sure. Why not? Dunkin Donuts partnered with Wormtown Brewery in Worcester, Mass., to make DDark Roasted Brew, a rich creamy stout brewed with Dunkin’s dark roast coffee beans. The bad news is that it’s only available on tap at Wormtown, so if you’re in the Boston area, a road trip should be scheduled. The good news is, there’s a lot of demand for it, and the donut and coffee company is considering bottling it—at least as a seasonal brew. The dark roast is a winter warmer. Other brews based on the season would use other beans. Dunkin’ CMO Tony Weisman recently gave Cheddar CEO Jon Steinberg a taste of the new brew just a few hours after tapping the first keg. Dunkin’ isn’t shy about trying new ventures. In August, it launched a “Sip, Peel, Win!” rewards campaign. We spoke with VP of Field Marketing Tony Manchester about the program in August.

Publix To Offer Affordable Prescription Drug Program
Publix has always been deeply committed to its vast customer base. Consider that the 87-year-old company has been named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in America for 20 consecutive years. This week Publix Pharmacy announced via Business Wire the launch of a new program to provide up to a 90-day supply of 29 of the most commonly prescribed generic medications for $7.50—a flat fee that doesn’t change regardless of patient insurance coverage. Publix doesn’t have a loyalty program, per se, but officials believe every customer is entitled to the same superior service and savings. We spoke with Maria Brous, Director of Media and Community Relations at Publix Super Markets, about this in November prior to the launch of the program.

Bigger and Better Loyalty Program at Golden Nugget Casinos
Every loyalty marketer wants to expand its loyalty offering to attract as many devoted customers as possible. Golden Nugget Casinos is no different. This week the casino operator announced that its 24K Select Club members across five of its casinos—Las Vegas, Laughlin, Atlantic City, Biloxi, and Lake Charles—can now combine their Comp Dollars and Tier Credits into one account, and that they can redeem Comp Dollars across any of its casinos and over 600 restaurants around the country. Members earn the Comp Dollars and Tier Credits by playing slot machines or table games, and by combining the rewards into a centralized account, members can earn rewards and qualify for higher tiers faster. Each tier level includes more benefits, access and rewards.
