Tattoo’s Hurt Chances of Getting Job? Nobody Knows Anymore
Employees have more tattoos in today’s market than ever before. With a large portion of people not only being open to the idea of tattoos in the workplace but having some themselves, we are seeing less people “cover up,” while in the office. So the question remains, do tattoos still hurt candidates’ chances of getting a job? Well, yes and no. On one hand, according to a study done by Miami and Western Australia Business School, “in a study of 2,000 participants, they found no evidence of a statistical difference in earnings or employment levels among the tattooed and the non-tattooed, and this held true whether a person had a few tattoos or many, and whether the tattoos were visible or not.” However, on the other hand, in a study by a professor at Colorado State, “he found that would-be hiring managers still don’t want to see tattoos on job candidates and will offer people with tattoos and body piercings lower starting salaries.” Best advice from us? Maybe still keep things covered up until AFTER you have the signed job offer (no matter how sweet your new ink is).

It’s a Rough Day for…
T-Mobile. On Friday, the brand was affected by a data breach which affected 2 million of its customers. According to T-Mobile, items that were breached included the names, billing zip codes, phone numbers, email addresses, account numbers, and account types for their customers. Fortunately, no financial data, social security numbers, or passwords were part of the hack. If you are a T-Mobile member and haven’t received a text by now, then no worries, you would have received a notification. This marks yet another data breach within a major brand in the market. As hackers continue to improve, will brands consider revamping their security measures?
