Chevron Expands Loyalty Program in Southern California

Simplicity in a loyalty program is a major attribute and attraction for customers.

Just ask Chevron.

Albertsons Cos. LLC and Chevron Products Co., a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., have expanded their popular Gas Rewards loyalty program to even more customers with the addition of Albertsons in southern California.

The expansion of the Gas Rewards loyalty program, which is already in place for Vons, helps to maximize value and savings for both Albertsons and Vons shoppers, as well as Chevron and Texaco customers, through the combination of quality, convenience, and rewards. The expansion rolled out to southern California on Feb. 3.
Customers can register for the program either at Albertsons.com or by downloading the Albertsons app on either their Android or iOS devices.

Doris Lee, head of loyalty at Chevron, talked to Loyalty360 about the evolution of the program.

“Program members continue to actively engage in the program and appreciate its simplicity, value, and integration into their daily lives,” Lee explained to Loyalty360. “Shopping for groceries at Albertsons, Safeway, and their other banners and fueling up at Chevron and Texaco has become a part of their routines.”

Under the Gas Rewards loyalty program, for every 100 Reward Points earned by shopping at southern California Albertsons and Vons stores, customers receive a 10 cent-per-gallon Gas Reward redeemable at participating Chevron and Texaco stations.

Customers earn Reward Points every time they use their registered phone number while shopping at local Vons and Albertsons stores.

With more than 1,200 of Albertsons Companies’ 2,300 stores offering the program to shoppers and more than 3,500 Chevron and Texaco branded stations currently participating in the program, grocery shopping and saving at the pump are now even more convenient.

Lee is proud of the program’s growth and its current expansion in southern California.

“We began working with Safeway in southern California in October 2012 and have expanded the program to include more than 3,500 Chevron and Texaco stations and more than 1,300 Albertsons, Safeway, and their other bannered stores,” Lee added.

In addition to southern California, the loyalty program in partnership with Albertsons is also available in Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Louisiana, Washington, Salt Lake City, and in Texas in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and Austin.
